Thoughts
Professor Titular Patrick J. Dowling was great scientist and administration of the Civil Engineering Department of Imperial College of London University and then he contributed a great deal to the development of Surrey University.
We all will miss him.

I have known Paddy for over 20 years. I was very fond of him. His generosity and hospitality were second to none. Always making the time to meet us when he, Grace and family came to Dublin. It did not matter if you were passing by and you were with other people, he accommodated everyone. Great sense of humour, kindness and encouraging people to reach their full potential in their careers. Paddy will be sadly missed but I am very lucky to have known him.
