So sorry to hear of Patrick's passing. I know that he was a man of deep faith and I am sure he will have met the end with peace. I have very fond memories of Patrick as our Head of Department: always straightforward in his communication, always fair in his judgements, and always encouraging to young academics. He also had a great sense of humour. A big character with a big heart. Rest in peace, Paddy.
